Abstract

Nanotechnology is growing at an exponential rate and will clearly have both salutary and toxological impact on health and the environment. The unique size dependent properties of nanoparticles make these materials superior in many areas of human activities like in medicine, manufacturing, consumer products and research have raised questions about the toxicity on molecular, biochemical and physiological level. Nanotoxicological studies are intended to determine whether and to what extent these properties may pose a threat to the environment and to human beings. Data related to the toxicity of these nanoparticles still in its initial phase. This review presents application of different nanoparticles in various fields and their related toxicity on health and environment.
