Quinazolinones and antifungal activity.

Abstract

Quinazolinone derivatives are one of the most active classes of compounds possessing a wide spectrum of biological activity. Recently several scientists have been reported that introduction of various heterocyclic moieties at 2 and 3 position of quinazolinone nucleus modulate the antifungal activity. Various derivatives of quinazolinone have been synthesized and evaluated for their antifungal activity against Candida Albicans, Aspergilles Niger, Aspergillus Clavatus, Aspergillus Fumigatus, Aspergillus Parasiticus at various concentrations. This article is sincere attempt to review chemistry and antifungal activity of quinazolinones for last 20 year (1991-2011).
